About Param Prasad Charitable Society

In 1992,the Bishop of Kalyan entrusted the two civil districts of Satara and Solapur in Maharashtra, to the Missionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS) for developmental work. Over a period of time the mission started working in various rural development projects, hospitals, AIDS/HIV care centres, schools orphanages and numerous welfare programs. These activities are carried out through a registered society, Param Prasad Charitable Society(PPCS), headquartered in Satara.

Starting operations in a small rented flat in Karad, the Society has contributed a great deal to the development of these two districts in the field of healthcare, education, care of the intellectually disabled, the aged and homeless orphans.

The Society collaborates with Indian Red Cross Society to run one of the best and biggest HIV/AIDS programs in India; at the Bel-Air Hospital, Panchgani.

The Society runs the Mary Matha School, Mhaswad, Mary Matha School Dahiwadi, St. Thomas School, Solapur, Deva Matha School, Sadapur, St. Joseph’s School, Barsi, and St. Xavier High School, Panchgani.

The Society has a home for aged destitute people called Ashraya Bhavan in Lonand. There is also a home for orphan boys at Sadepur, and a proposed home for physically challenged girls in Satara.

There is also an Integrated Community Development Programme running programs for Mahila Mandals, Self Help Groups, Nursery Schools, and Tailoring Schools.
