Village of Hope
Asha Gram “Village of Hope” is a loving, caring and safe haven for over a hundred intellectually disabled children. Located in village Ekambe, in rural Satara, and constructed on a 75 acre plot, the institution has, over the years, been donated capable infrastructure to house these lovable kids. Much more is yet to be done however, and this site showcases the existing facilities, and plans for the future.

From 2000 to today…
Since 2000, Param Prasad Charitable Society (PPCS) has been running Asha Bhavan, a home for intellectually disabled orphan children. Originally set up by the Government in 1986, PPCS found that the condition of the inmates was deplorable, and the Government requested the society to run the institution. In 2000 when they were allowed to take over, the rolls showed 153 admissions, however there were only 42 children who were left – with the remaining having run away or died due to neglect.
Today Asha Gram and its sister institution Asha Bhavan, are home to over 150 mentally challenged children, two locations in Satara, dormitories, infrastructure and a promise of a loving and caring future for the children housed here. There is still a lot to be done, and it cannot be done without your help.
